Behold the most hallowed of dogs, the forever immortalized Midgy. Practically from the moment I came out of the womb, I have been told of the ferocity and courage of this dog. It was only about 10 years ago that I actually saw a picture of Midgy and would have dared a wry grin were it not for my father's presence. He had two other dogs, both name Chrissy but that was my fault, however neither rose to the level of this most heralded creature. There are many stories of Midgy fighting and of course conquering other dogs, but there is a real life story right out of the silent film era when she was snatched by the dog catcher right on 60 41st Street, her own block, her territory in Irvington, NJ. Midgy created such mayhem in the dog catcher's vehicle that he was forced to stop and attempt to restore order. When the door opened, Midgy sailed passed his shoulder and paws pounding the pavement she ran to the loving arms of my grandmother.
I love this dog. I love this story!
