Life in the Navy

Although my father was very nostalgic about the Navy, he never forgot how cold it was in Rhode Island.  This letter, written to his sister Ruth in 1943, asks if she told "the senate to end the war so we can all come home."  The letter goes on to record the temperature at 15 below zero.
